Tested in June 1944 utilizing an FW 190B-2, by the Institute for Test Flights of the DFS in cooperation with Gotha. The “flying fuel tank” had a span of 17 feet, a length of 15.7 feet, a capacity of 143 gallons, was lightly armored, and had a skid beneath the container. In actual use it was intended to be towed by an FW 190A-5 utilizing two steel cables 13 to 22 feet in length.
